About Peppermint Pinwheels

Hiya!  My name is Stacey Sharman, but I am also known as Peppermint Pinwheels.  I've always hated having "idle hands" and started sewing and crafting as a kid. I was the goth in the high school cafeteria doing counted cross-stitch during lunch. I focused on hand-work for a long time, as I learned the basics of machine sewing on an antique, foot pedaled sewing machine and found the whole process incredibly frustrating. However, after years of sewing by hand and testing the limits of many a  lesser sewing machine, I fell in love with a Bernina and have been sewing non-stop ever since.

After dabbling with fashion and home decor sewing, I fell head over heels into the world of quilt-making. I find the most satisfying thing about making quilts is creating useable art that will also be cherished and remembered, possibly for generations, from random bits of cloth. Plus, it's just so great to get to play with different colors, textures, and designs.  Most of all, I do like to have fun!

The quilts I make for Peppermint Pinwheels are a mix vintage and new fabrics that are both modern and traditional and absolutely unique.  I also teach quilting classes and am working on a line of quilting patterns (but, I've been saying THAT for quite awhile now!).
