If you know me, then you know that in my "day job," I restore oriental carpets. Every day that I go to work, I get to be surrounded, quite literally, by beautiful hand-dyed yarn and gorgeous (mostly!), antique rugs. Many of the carpets that I get to work on are tribal in origin and offer so much design inspiration. But, every once in a while, there's a carpet that seems worn beyond saving. I love what
Loom Rugs does with rugs like these!
Loom has a beautiful selection of very interesting rugs, both new and vintage. Everything on their site is amazing -
pop over and take a look!
I'm tempted to turn every one of these into a quilt...but especially the black and white one. We'll see!
Those area rugs..I'm in love. I'm often inspired by area rugs too. Lucky you...you get to work with them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool job! Those rugs are amazing, boo hoo, too bad they're in Australia. I would love to have one of those.
ReplyDeleteStunning! Those clever Aussies ;)
ReplyDeleteLucky you, what a fabulous job! And those rugs pictured are beautiful! Off to check out the site, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYup, I am lucky! Wish I was lucky enough to have one of those Loom rugs, too...
ReplyDeleteYour job sounds AMAZING! I sit in front of a computer and work on spreadsheets/projects/ and maintain a database... lame :)
